I've downloaded the Gift Card app, now what?

Once you’ve downloaded the Gift Card app to your Clover station, you can use the digital demo card you received with your welcome e-mail to process a few demo transactions and see how the system works. If you can't find your demo card, simply click here to download it. For best results, we suggest downloading the card to a smartphone or printing out a copy.

  • I’m ready to go ahead with the Gift Card app. What’s next?

    The next step is ordering your cards. Simply visit our custom gift cards order page to upload your card design and let us know how many cards you need. We will then convert your design to a print-ready version for you to approve.

    If you don’t have a design ready, simply upload a business logo and a few images, and our team of designers will put something together for you at no additional cost. You can also stipulate what information you want on your cards (for instance, your business address, social media pages, etc.). We will then send you a tentative design that we can subsequently change based on your feedback. Once you’re happy with how your gift card looks, you can choose a quantity and place your order.

  • How much are the gift cards?

    We have preferred rates with plastic card manufacturers, so we can offer you these cards at very competitive rates for small orders. To view all card prices and choose the quantity that works best for you, please see our card pricing chart.

    Please note: You have the option to speed up the manufacturing and shipping of your Gift Cards (custom or generic) at the cost of a premium that's calculated by the total number of cards you order. This is added when you select your shipping option at check-out. Your shipping options only affect your Gift Cards.

    Unfortunately, our manufacturers can't expedite the production of Gift Card packaging, which may be delivered some days after your Gift Cards arrive. There are no costs for shipping packaging.

  • Can I use the app for anything other than gift cards?

    Of course! Our system and cards are designed for maximum flexibility, and some customers come up with new and practical ways to use it. For instance, if you want your business to go cash-less, your customers can top up their loyalty balance first, then use it gradually for in-business acquisitions.

    Here are a few ideas from our business customers on how to make the most out of your loyalty system and gift cards.

  • Is there a minimum duration contract?

    No, there is no minimum duration. You can uninstall the app at any time, at which point all future payments will be cancelled.

  • I’m having a problem with my Gift Card app, can you help?

    Of course. Please see the troubleshooting section below for a few simple steps you can try first. If your problem persists, please get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to assist.

  • My business has several branches. Will the system work in more than one location?

    Yes, the cards will work perfectly across all locations. Customers will be able to top up their card in one location, then use it in another.

    You can track and verify all gift card usage in real time through the online LoyLap dashboard. To access your dashboard, simply login to the website here or by clicking the Login button at the top of any page on the LoyLap website.

  • Can I set an expiry date for the gift cards?

    No. We recognise that it’s more beneficial to a business to redeem a card, and potentially win a new customer, than it is to let a gift card expire. We provide detailed analytics to all of our customers to illustrate all they need to know about the values in circulation. This information can be broken down on a yearly basis so you can see, for instance, how much value has not been redeemed in the last two years. That way, you can get an idea of how much will most likely never be redeemed.

  • I already have my own gift cards, can I use them with your app?

    Unfortunately, no. Our application is designed to only use codes generated only by LoyLap. As such, any other QR codes, barcodes or magnetic strips will sadly be incompatible with our systems.

    If you have a preexisting customer loyalty database, however, you might be able to migrate some or all of the data to your new system. Please get in touch with our support team for more information.

Quick fix: Refresh the app

refreshappOpen the Gift Card app, then press the Refresh App button (pictured to the left). You can find this button in the bottom-right corner of the app screen.

Is the camera no longer opening when you select the QR Scan button?

Please try a system reboot by pulling your finger down the top right hand side of the Clover device, then pressing Reboot. Your system should be back up and working within 1 minute.

In-depth fix: Start over with a clean slate

If the problem persists, try uninstalling, then reinstalling the Gift Card app by following the steps below.

  • Step 1: Uninstall the Gift Card app from the Clover store.
  • Step 2: Delete the LoyLap category from the inventory, as well as the Gift Card by LoyLap item.
  • Step 3: Reboot the system.
  • Step 4: Reinstall the app.

Note that all your configurations will carry over to the fresh install. No need to worry about having to manually reconfigure anything!
